How to add distressed effects in Book Bolt Studio
In order to add distressed effects in Book Bolt Studio, you will first need to have some type of image, or layer added to the page or cover.
Once you have an image or text added, you will then have the option to click on the distressed effects in the left hand menu, which looks like a paintbrush:
Clicking on the paintbrush will bring up the different distressed effects that are available:
Once selected, the distressed effect will be added to the top of the layer that you had previously selected:
Once the distressed effect is laid over the top of the image, it will become a new “object” in the right hand menu. You must select this effect by clicking on the radio button, or simply clicking on the effect on the canvas:
Now that you have the distressed layer added, you can now begin manipulating it in the top menu:
For this example, we will click on the opacity slider, and turn down the effect slightly, so that the image looks more “grunge” instead of a full masking of the image:
Note: At any time, you can click on the layer and drag it around on your image to see how it will look.
