Part 4 – Learning Even More & Doing Better
Once you’ve gone through the main tutorials, it’s time to branch out a little below. If you ended up on this page and missed the start of this article, please click here to go back to the Intro.
At the end of Part 3, I mentioned the Learning menu, we now offer over 650 articles and videos to help you learn and improve (250+ have been added the past 2 years as of April 2025). That includes Blogs, Book Bolt Research Tools, Past Live Calls, Walkthrough Videos, FAQ's, Live Call Material, Tutorials, Book Bolt Studio, KDP Research and Publishing and Troubleshooting links. All of it is available right from the dropdown menu called “Learning” from inside the Book Bolt Studio. Everything in there exists for a reason, and it’s all built to support your learning journey.
While you're in the Studio, click Help > Troubleshooting, and read the article:
“Rejection Emails from KDP – Their Meanings & What to Do from Here.” Reading that, and the links inside it, will help you avoid common issues that delay publishing.
Cover Issues with KDP & Interior Issues with KDP links you should check out; these are by far the most common problems mentioned in the Facebook group and in help tickets. These articles include examples, screenshots, and even videos to help you understand exactly what KDP is looking for. And remember: every setting you use in Book Bolt—paper size, bleed/no bleed, trim size, needs to match exactly on KDP. If not, you’ll get a rejection email, you will have to fix it, resubmit, and wait again.
Please also spend time learning about images and how to use them properly. This is probably the #1 reason people get banned from KDP, or at the very least, receive emails asking for proof that they have permission to use certain images. Most bans happen to people who are newer and didn’t take the time to learn. Can I Use Images from Pixabay, Unsplash or Other Free Image Sites? Even if images are listed as free for commercial use, always check them on images.google.com to see how they’re being used. If possible, modify them to make them your own. Make sure you can legally modify the image, and that you understand the license. Some licenses require modification. Know the difference.
We can’t stress enough how important it is to keep learning and researching, before you make books. From using the tools available, to understanding royalty margins and pricing, to checking if there’s real demand for what you want to publish. These are all part of making good books that people will actually want to buy.
Want to see what kind of royalty you’d make on a book? Try KDP’s Royalty Calculator, it’s a great tool.
And don’t forget the Top 10 Most Frequently Asked Questions from our Facebook group. If you're new, that one post will give you a big head start.
Once your book is done, consider adding A+ Content. This lets you include extra images on your KDP listing to help show off your book. Check out the article, How to Add Images to Your KDP Listings to Create a Plus Content. It’s a great way to boost your listing and help potential customers understand your book better.

There are tons of other articles and videos in the Learning menu. Take your time with them. Pick an article or two each week. Watch a few videos. Or just scan through a section of the FAQ that’s new to you.
And don’t forget, all these tools are here to help our subscribers. The Learning menu, the Facebook group, and even our new AI Assistant in the bottom right corner of the Studio. Still stuck? Just send in a help ticket.
I could go on and on. More tools, more links, more advice. But really, you’ve got this. You’ve already learned more than most people ever will, and this is just the beginning. Keep moving forward. Learn at your own pace. And when in doubt, come back here. If you want to go back to the Intro then click on it.
