If you have a will or will be doing one and have sales you may want to make sure in your will, you are clear with your wishes in respect to your KDP account.
Your account and therefore your books as well as your future Royalties can be left to someone, that you want them left to.

A couple years ago I seen a article from someone who went through this and all the headaches they had, not because of KDP. It took a while because it was not specifically specified in the will. Their point was to make sure this is spelt out in the will and best if specified on a legal document within the will so you do not have to send in the whole will to KDP. I am not a lawyer and unsure if true I am just passing this on. You should consult a professional and discuss things like this.
In the end, if you don't want your account to die with you and eventually payments bouncing back to KDP and Jeff getting richer, take some action. You also don't want to have someone else who knows your login and password to just update all info and change bank info and all this is done under a different IP address without notifying KDP properly. as KDP will know and that could get your account closed. Do it all above board. Make sure your estate planner has your login and password to pass on to the person you left it to as well and maybe include a printout of the above mentioned link from KDP as well so they know the process to go through.
A tip as well, maybe too, you may want to make a video or many videos on how to do things within KDP, how to do ads (maybe you don't want them to have those worries though and rather they just collect the royalties), if you think that person can handle these things. Another video maybe going over the basic things so they know. Including reports and how payments work and all of that. Just so they understand the basics and what they will need to know. Also how to reach KDP help to notifiy them of the death and and things like this.
