[TUTORIAL] How To Add Quotes, Phrases, Text, Captions, Etc. To Pages

3 min. readlast update: 06.01.2026

If you want to add some sort of text on your pages, you now can. We have added a template called the "Phrase Template". Just click on the templates icon, click it and search for "Phrase" or scroll down and around the 4th row of templates it is right there just before the start of the puzzle template. At the bottom is a link to a video you can watch.

Just like our other templates when you click on one, the first step is picking the pages you want the template to be applied to. Then you press "Continue to Options". Then your options screen appears.

The normal options are there like in so many other templates, you can adjust margins, font choices, font colors, font size, letter case and alignment.

Next will be prepping your CSV file. You will save it as a CSV file like any other template you make say for a puzzle. Use google sheets and then download as a csv.

Some things to keep in mine. Up to 4 columns are used in the CSV file you will make.

  • Anything in Column A will end up at the top of the page
  • Anything in Column B will end up at the bottom of the page
  • Anything in Column C will end up at the left side of the page
  • Anything in Column D will end up at the right side of the page

You can enter text into 1, 2, 3 or 4 columns. They can be different number for each page, meaning row one might have text in column A, row 2 has text in column 3 and 4, row 3 has text in row 2, etc.

You can also check the Numbering option

This will allow you to place a number in front of the text or after it and pick a starting number.

Keep in mind it will number each set of text on a page, so if you have text on top and bottom it will number it 1 and 2, then next page 3 and 4. If you want numbering and to be all the same number on a page. Then just fill one column at a time and import and then the other.

Below is an example of the text on 3 sides, text was on row 1, in column A, C and D.

One thing to keep in mind, this template behaves like the Page Number Template. If you have the box checked "One Template Per Page" it will not wipe out anything on a page that was put there from a different template.

If you did use the Phrase Template already and the text is still there from it and then use it again, if you keep that option checked, it will delete what is there and place the new text from the Phrase Template. Uncheck it, if you want to keep any text you already have there from the Phrase Template.

Please spend a little time testing things in a test project so you fully understand how things work.
