The process to create a Dot to Dot Puzzle is pretty straight foward.
First add a picture that you want to trace to a page.
Make sure you have the picture selected and then pick the Dot to Dot Icon to get started
Your screen will now look like this
You have some choices to decide on:
Dot Color
Font Color
Dot Size
Font Size
Font Family and Style
Let's change the font size to 15 and nothing else. All you need to do now, is start by clicking around the image (If you did not like where you placed something then hold down the CTRL button and then click the X).
You just continue doing this until you have dots all around the image and then you press Submit.
Then you are done!
WARNING, be sure you are done placing dots before clicking the submit button, you can not go back and edit more after.
A couple of tips are below:
Tip #1: If you do not want numbers with each dot (personally I don't use them, because it should not matter where you start connecting the dots).
Click on the Font Color Box and slide the slider all the way to the left, the one below the color choice so it is to 0.
to this
Then start clicking and you will only see the dots now.
Tip #2: Some people like to have a faded image behind the dots so they have something to go by. You can do this easily.
Add your image to the page. Arrange it how you want it on the page.
Make sure the image is selected, press CTRL C to copy it, then press CTRL V to paste it.
Now click the Dot to Dot icon, make your Dot to Dot, submit.
Now you will see the Dot to Dot on top of the one image (make sure the image remaining is behind the dots. On the right layer menu, right click on the image, and click on "Send to Back"
Now you probably want to have this image faded. Make sure it is selected on the left layer menu. Then click the Opacity square on the top menu bar and reduce it to say 20. Experiment with this number to get it right for you.
One final tip on this, if keeping a faded image in the background, and you are printing a black and white book, they will convert the color image to greyscale, I prefer to do this myself, so I can see it and not reply on a printer doing this.
To accomplish this, make sure picture is selected (this is before changing Opacity, so still at 100), Click Effects on the top menu bar and pick greyscale. Then reduce the Opacity.
If you are doing a color book then do not greycale the picture obviously. But I doubt many would do a color Dot to Dot, would be expensive.
A video will be coming soon!
