[AMAZON ADS] Is There A Way to Figure Out Organic Sales and Your Ad Sales

Unfortunately they don't do this for you in seperating the two things.

The best way to go about this is create an excel sheet to track both.

You probbaly should not track daily sales, simply because when a person clicks and ad and adds it to their cart and then finalizes order it counts as a sale then and there. But on the KDP dashboard it will not show up until shipped out and CC charged. So their can be a delay between the 2 of a day, usually 2 or 3 days and could be more. A lot depends on the country, if they have prime, if a holiday or weekend, etc.

So I find tracking monthly the best thing to do. You could be out the odd sale the one month, but the next month you will be out a couple sales.

I have a simple and complex excel sheet myself. To keep it simplified, create a excel sheet or google sheet file.

A1 put Month and Year

B1 put KDP Sales

C1 Put Ad Sales

D1 Put Organic Sales

Then you just change date range on KDP dashboard for last month or whenever. Enter that number under KDP sales.

Then go to ad console, change date range and how many sold* into excel sheet under Ad Sales column.

Then under organic sales you need to create a formula =B1-C1, that will show you the organic sales.

* = Keep in mind KDP Dashboard Orders and Ad Console Orders are different. KDP dashboard shows the number of units sold. For an ad, you could have 1 order and the sales total shows 17.97 (3 units time 5.99 selling price). So I usually have to divide my Ad Sales number by the selling price to get the real order (units sold) number.
