[STUDIO] How Do You Resize Your Book Size or Turn Your Paperback to Hardcover

We get this asked a lot...

I created a project with trim size as 6 x 9 but now I want it to be 8.5 x 11, how can I change the size in my project.

or

I want to offer 6 sizes of my low content book for people to choose from, how can I clone my project and make it a different size?

(Really think about doing that and if you should, and does your research show all the top sellers do this too, this is not really a thing).

or

I did a paperback version of my book and KDP is suggesting I make a Hardcover and eBook version, so how can I change my hardcover to these versions.

(KDP is really not suggesting anything, keep in mind it assumes written books so it offers people these alternatives but each must be made in that format first. Question you have to ask, does your research show hardcovers in your niche are selling, is just one question to ask yourself, because your hardcover will probably have to be double the price of your paperback and your time may be better spent making another book. Also low content books can not be eBooks, how will they write on it in a eReader?).

If you want to do any of these things, you need to:

• Create a new project
• Decide if you want to import the PDF of your original version or use JSON files.
  • Import your PDF, see this video
  • Import your JSON files, see this video
• If importing from PDF, you just use the pdf that was created in your original project in the studio. If JSON, when you downloaded your original project, you will see a JSON folder inside of it and you will be using the files inside of it.

Keep in mind when doing this, you may need to adjust things on each page after. In most cases what you had on a 6 x 9 page, will not be laid out the same on 8.5 x 11 page.
